2010 Annual Meeting Report

This years Annual Meeting was a success!  It was held at the Polk County Extension Office, Altoona, IA on Saturday, January 16, 2010.  Fifty-three (53) members and guests attended and four (4) different presentations were given:  Jill Paxton - State of the Equine Industry; Mark Edwards - IA DNR and Trails Summit; Tom Colvin & Judy Hand - ARL & The Equine Facilities & Program; Jamey Carsel - ISU CVM Farrier Services & Hoof Care.  Dinner was provided by the Altoona Hyvee with meatloaf and herb roasted chicken served.  A silent auction was also held, please see below for results of silent auction! 


2010 Annual Meeting Silent Auction

This year the Annual Meeting committee held a silent auction instead of door prizes.  We were able to get over $1200.00 worth of merchandise and services donated.  With all donations we raised $950.00 to be used for the scholarships, grants, and sponsorships programs offered by the Iowa Horse Council.
